Today is January 6, 2017, and I went Uptown to take photos. One of the people who posed for me actually recognized me from the Keith Lamont Scott protests — good memory. He originally got my attention as he preached, “God loves you!” with a shirt emboldened with the same message in big block letters. I denied his claims of recognizing me, and his face shown that he knew I wasn’t interested in conversation. So, we went our separate ways. I’m not sure why I lied, but I should’ve spoken to him. I’m a beginner at street photography, and should be mindful of opportunities for conversation.

The small batch of photos below are from the second night of protests (September 22nd, 2016), where I followed protesters to witness first hand what was happening in the city I live in.





Gotta be mindful of my vantage point.
